Fukisawa population. Lat/Long: 35° 56’ 50.6" N 138° 19° 12.2" E (WGS84) Description: Spreading shrub to c.1.5m x 1.5m. Alt.: 1886m Habitat: South-west facing slope in an area of forest c.50 years old, which recolonised after a very destructive typhoon (pers. Comm. T.Katsuki). Dense forest dominated by Quercus crispula and Larix kaempfer - the latter seeding in from surrounding plantations. Also with Abies veitchii var. veitchii, Betula ermanii, Sorbus japonica. Rhododendron molle ssp. japonicum and Aconitum sp. abundant in the understorey. Associated material collected: Seed.
