VIET NAM: Cao Bang: Cho Ra region, Ba Be National Park. Ridge top,
secondary forest. 800 m. 22°23'N, 105°37'E.
Tree to 4m. DHB 3. Bark dark brown, pink and red lenticel, yellow
wood, no smell. rough, regularly covered in nodules. Many flat nodes on
stem. Leaves dark green, paler underside, glabrous, shiny surface,
venation not obvious except prominent midrib, no smell or exudate. Fruit
dark red when ripe, like mini-apples, hard white centre, panicle
inflorescence.
