Rosette perennial herb; solitary or in
groups up to 4; rosettes to 1.5m wide;
leaves glaucous, very sharp tips; male
flowering stems to 2m, up to 6cm diameter at
base, smelling strongly of citrus rind: sap
clear; seeds and bracts yellow-green. '
