Evergreen shrub to 4m, spread to 10m, with pale silver grey bark with orange brown flakes, elliptic leaf to 14cm x 6cm, deep glossy green above with golden brown indumentum below, entire, mucronulate, elliptic capsules pale yellow green to 2.5cm with style to 3cm, stout dull purple petiole to 2cm, fat conic green flower bud to 2cm with exserted bracts on up to three basal scales.
