Forest immediately below (south) of the temple. Lat/Long: 34° 23’ 6.4" N 132° 18° 58" E (WGS84) Description: Upright shrub to c.2m tall. Alt.: 600m Habitat: South-west facing ridge side in full sun. Dry, shallow soils over loose granite. Exposed to easterly winds. Mallotus japonicus, Sorbus japonica, Acer sp., Lindera triloba, llex sp., Vaccinium oldhamii, Melampyrum roseum.
