N side of the pass 2 above the tunnel on the road between Gongshan and Kongdang. W side of Gaoligong Shan. Elev. 3530 m 27° 46’ 20" N, 98° 26’ 48" E Bamboo and Rhododendron thicket with adjacent meadow areas. Prostrate shrub to 10 cm tall. Very seldom flowering. Fruit brown. Growing in humus over boulders and in alpine turf with other dwarf Rhododendron and Diapensia. Abundant.
