Subtropical evergreen broadleaf forest. Disturbed by felling. Secondary forest of Pinus yunnanensis with developing subtropical broadleaved forest as an understory. Tree ca. 8 m tall. Fruit green. Occasional. Growing on moist slope at forest margin. In loam on decomposed granite.
