Flora of Belize
Fabaceae - Faboideae
Vigna linearis (Kunth) Maréchal, Mascherpa & Stainier
Toledo: Deep River Forest Reserve North; ~8 km west of
Southern Highway along BFREE access road, ~200 m south
of access road.
16°31'19" N, 88°42'42" W
Occasional delicate vine to 30 cm in herb layer; large mauve-
purple flower; black ants on | individual.
Open woody savanna grassland. Rare sparsely scattered Pinus
caribaea to 18 m (<5%) canopy; sparse shrub layer of
occasional Acoelorraphe wrightii 3-5 m, Byrsonima
crassifolia 3 (-8) m & rare Curatella americana 3 m. Herb
layer dominated by grasses. Evidence of past burning (>1
month previous).
