Canopy dominated by Quercus oleoides 12 m (40 cm DBH), 60%. Shrub layer (80%) of abundant Calliandra houstoniana 2 m, frequent Byrsonima crassifolia 2 (-8) m, Turnera sp. 2 m & occasional Acoelorraphe wrightii 3-6 m. Grass dominated sparse herb layer (5%) with deep leaf litter, Oak thicket seems to have escaped recent fire (c. 2 months previous) on surrounding open grassland.
