MQ00327 Flora of Belize Melastomataceae Acisanthera crassipes (Naudin) Wurdack xo} i Pad he ® n 4 ehed ao Sy = > fo} ° oO Belize: Burrell Boom; 1.5 Km north of Burrell Boom- Hattieville road, 2 Km north of prison. 17°30'59" N, 88°25'54" W Locally frequent single-stemmed herb to 8 cm growing in open grassland with Utricularia spp. and Schultesia guianensis; single, dark purple stem with basal rosette of dark purple leaves; flowers with 5 white petals and 5 yellow and purple anthers. Open savanna grassland with abundant Acoelorraphe wrightii, frequent Byrsonima crassifolia, Curatella americana and rare Crescentia cujete, punctuated by Eleocharis marshes and forest thickets.
