Orange Walk: Savanna West between Crooked Tree Wildlife
Sanctuary & New River Lagoon; ~2 Km South of access road
from Crooked Tree Village.
17°44'14" N, 88°35'S51" W
Rare shrub to 1 m; pale yellow sticky latex; young pendant
inflorescence.
Open woody savanna with large white, sandy patches,
palmetto clumps & small oak thickets. Occasional Quercus
oleoides (locally abundant) 5 m, frequent Pinus caribaea 5-8
m, Curatella americana 3 m, Acoelorraphe wrightii 3 m &
Chrysobalanus icaco 1 m. Grass dominated herb layer in oak
thicket.
