Stann Creek: Hughes Estate; c. 1 Km east of Southern Highway along Kanantik access road. 16°44'00" N, 88°23'26" W Rare tiny herb in open spaces between sedge tussocks: fenestrated leaves; shiney silver-grey bracts on grey inflorescence, flowers black. Open pine woodland savanna. Abundant Pinus caribaea 12-15 m, occasional Acoelorraphe wrightii 1 (-2.5) m, Quercus oleoides <1 m, Byrsonima crassifolia 1 m & Curatella americana 3 m. Dense sedge & grass dominated herb layer, >90%. Site burnt regularly, most recently during the previous dry season; reduced shrub layer & no pine regeneration. Collector: Goodwin, Zoé A.
