Belize: Burrell Boom; 1.5 Km north of Burrell Boom-
Hattieville road, 2 Km north of prison.
17°30'59" N, 88°25'54" W
Occasional, locally abundant herb. When sterile has
translucent, fleshy leaves to 3 cm with obvious septa, leaves
flatten and die off when fertile, removal of leaves reveals pink
centre of plant. Inflorescences have silver sheen and are borne
on peduncles to 7 cm. Growing in damp area (recently dried)
amongst sedge tussocks, Drosera capillaris and Utricularia
spp.
Open savanna grassland with abundant Acoelorraphe wrightii,
frequent Byrsonima crassifolia, Curatella americana and rare
Crescentia cujete, punctuated by Eleocharis marshes and
forest thickets. Partially burnt previous dry season, evidence
of human disturbance including numerous tracks (some old
others well used) and some rubbish dumping. ‘
