Site 7 18° 01° 09.84" N 88° 31° 35.82" W (WGS84) Open woody savanna with scattered pine; with abundant Crescentia cujete (5 m), frequent Byrsonima crassifolia (3 m), frequent Myrtaceae (2 m), occasional Pinus caribaea (17 m) providing <5% canopy cover with islands of denser shrubs such as Metopium brownei, Acoelorraphe wrightii & Hampea trilobata around Quecus oleioides (16 m). Herb layer 60% sedges and 40% grasses together providing 80% ground cover. Alt.: 20m Abundant herb to 40 cm in open savanna and trackside; 1 (-2) flowers per plant; 6 white, shimmery tepals, lanceolate to spathulate with apiculate tip, outer tepals 25 x 9 mm, inner 25 x 7 mm; 3 yellow anthers; white gynoecium. Flowers opened at 6 am (just after sunrise) and shut at 8.30 am.
