Locality: South Korea: Kangwon-do, Jeongseon County:
Hambaeksan; summit just below the miltary station.
37° 09" 41.9" N 128° 55’ 5.2" E (WGS84). 1542m a
Habitat: Sub-alpine vegetation on steep rocky boulder slopes.
Covered with a few scattered, low trees of Abies nephrolepis but a
mainly with severly stunted trees and shrubs including: Berberis
amurensis, Weigela_ subsessilis, Sorbus commixta, Prunus
padus, Salix caprea, Betula ermanii, Euonymus sachalinensis,
Thuya koraienesis (infrequently) Ribes fasciculatus, Quercus
mongolica, Acer tschonoskii var. rubripes, Rhododendron
schlippenbachii and Rh. yedoensis
Description: Deciduous shrub to 1.5 m tall; leaves plum-
coloured
