| HERB. HORT. EDINB. FLORA OF SWEDEN Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Ericaceae Rhododendron tomentosum (Stokes) Harmaja SWEDEN: Varmlands: Lang6n. Pinus sylvestris forest on shallow peat soils. Picea abies, Sorbus aucupania and Betula pendula scattered. Ground vegetation dominated by R.tomentosum, with Vaccinium uliginosum subsp. uliginosum frequent throughout. ca 46 m. 59° 16' 58" N, 13° 53’ 56" E. Suckering shrub to 1 m tall, foliage generally restricted to the upper third of the stems. Linear leaves to 4cm long by 4 mm wide, strongly revolute, undersides and young shoots covered in a dense ferruginous indumentum. Current years seed ripening, old seed heads from last year persistent. Christian, T.
