W of Gaoligong Shan. Elev. 2950 m 25° 48' 27.7" N, 98° 36' 56" E SW facing 30-60° slope Subtropical evergreen broadleaf forest Undisturbed. Forest dominated by Lithocarpus, Tsuga, Symplocos, and Rhododendron. Shrub ca. 1.5 m tall. Calyx red. Corolla white flushed pink. Occasional. Growing in forest in semi-shade. In loam on limestone.
