Maas 14 Feb 2020 ROYAL BOTANIC GARDEN EDINBURGH (E) Costaceae Costus BELIZE: Orange Walk District: Rio Bravo Conservation Area, around 2- 2.5km south of Hill Bank Field Station. Wet, broad leaf forest. Damp soil, with lots of organic matter. Specimen in clearing at the edge of the forest with evidence of disturbance e.g. treefall. Growing with Heliconiaceae. 18 m. 17°34'50"N, 88°42'8"W. Understorey shrub, up to around 2.5 metres in height. Leaves mid green.
