Yaping Cun, in the vicinity of Yaping Yakou just E of the pass near the Myanmar border, E side of Gaoligong Shan. Elev. 3600 m 27° 12’ 43" N, 98° 41’ 47" E SE facing 10-30° slope. Thicket. Undisturbed. Bamboo-Rhododendron thickets with wet meadows in open areas. Shrub ca. 15 cm tall. Corolla maroon. Filaments pink, anthers black. Crushed leaves with a pineapple smell. Rare.
