Yaping Cun, in the vicinity of Yaping Yakou just E of the pass near the Myanmar border, E side of Gaoligong Shan. Elev. 3640 m 27° 12’ 37" N, 98° 41’ 46" B SW facing 30-60° slope. Thicket. Undisturbed. Bamboo-Rhododendron thickets with wet meadows in Open areas. Shrub ca. 15 cm tall. Pedicels dark red. Sepals dark red to green. Filaments red, anthers reddish yellow. Style red.
