IRIDACEAE
Gladiolus atroviolaceus BOISS.
Northern and western Iran. Place: 35°23'N 46°46'E.
Region: West central Kordestan,. Alt.: 1500-1700 m.
Habitat: eastern slope with scattered rocks, more
or less densely covered with herbs.
Notes: plant glaucous. Inflorescence dull dark
purplish. Outer tepals deep dark purple, inner ones
dark blue with darker centre and whitish claw;
filaments purple, anthers brownish; style pale
purple, stigmas darker.
