Tropical evergreen, lowland, seasonal, broadleaf forest:
Yucatan variant, canopy height 17+m, 80% Canopy cover.
Understory is dense layer of Polybotrys caudata, young Attalea
cohune, Costus pulverulentus, Calathea micans, and numerous
Psychotna and Miconia sp.
Altitude: 100m
Red clay-based soil in floodplain of tributary to South Stann
Creek, granite bedrock with occasional limestone pockets.
Up to 2m tall, frequent in understory.
