North side of Daxue Shan between Zhongdian and Xiangcheng. 28°35’38”E, 99°50’49”N; 4100-4300 m. Mixed Abies-Larix-Picea-Juniperus forest with large Rhododendron and open talus slopes and meadows. Rocky, steep slope in Juniperus-Rhododendron community. Shrub 2-3 m tall; new leaves white on lower surface, older leaves light brown on lower surface; fruits green turning reddish. D. E.
