Belize: Stann Creek District, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife
Sanctuary, 1km SE from visitors centre, 500 m along & 30 m
south of the Tiger Fern Trail, plot 5.
16° 46° 54.9" N 88° 27° 17" W (WGS84)
Tropical evergreen, lowland, broadleaf, seasonal forest:
Yucatan variant; canopy 18m incl. Cecropia glabra. Understory
of Polybotrys caudata, Selaginella, Araceae, many young
Attalea cohune & Psychotria poeppigiana; with Sloanea sp and
Alchomea latifolia shrubs.
Altitude: 100m
Red clay-based soil in floodplain of tributary to South Stann
Creek, within 10 m of river; granite bedrock with occasional |
limestone pockets.
9m tree at edge of tree fall gap.
