Understory is dense layer of Polybotrys caudata, young Attalea cohune, Costus pulverulentus, Calathea micans, and numerous Psychotria and Miconia sp. Altitude: 10m Red clay-based soil in floodplain of tributary to South Stann Creek, granite bedrock with occasional limestone pockets. ROYAL BOTANIC GARDEN 6m tall sapling, 4cm dbh, no sap.
