Gansu Province, Wen Xian: Motianling Shan, Baishui Jiang Nature
Reserve, W of the city of Wenxian, Qiujiaba; along SW branch of
Baima He. 32°55'0"N, 104°18'39"E; 2400-2700 m. Mixed secondary
forest of Populus, Acer spp., Salix and Betula spp., with clumped
bamboo (Fargesia?) understory above 2300 m and occasional Picea
and Abies. Crest of steep slope above river in semi open margin of
forest. Shrub ca. 2 m tall; corolla purple; upper lobe paler in center and
with dark yellow spots.
