across Nakatsugawa River, Okudaira, Nakatsugawa City.

Lat/Long: 35°24'53.3"N, 137°34'20"E
Habitat: In full sun on a dry stony flat south facing valley bottom
in the open
Vegetation: Cryptomeria japonica, Salix sp., Alnus hirsuta
Description: From a shrub to 1.5m x 1m with narrow-ovate
t \ leaves to 14cm x 4cm, pale green both above and below,
\ margin crenulate. Fruit a green ovoid capsule to 1cm x 0.5cm.
