Flowers vivid purple, with darker spots on the upper lobes. Undershrub fee root or less to i8 inches t thickets with other species, nestling down among them. (cf. No. 5828 collected in Tibet , 1924). In this species the calyx is rather small, lepidote on the reverse; the outside of the corolla is both lepidote and puberulous.
