Fruits capsular, cylindrical, residual stigma. Height greater than 4 m. Habitat: Dense mixed woodland with large areas of impermeable Sinoarundinaria. Steeply sloped, very damp. Lower parts eventually giveway to Rhododendron sinofalconeri forest. Vegetation: Mixed woodland, large swathes of bamboo, valleys of Rhododendron species eventually dominated by mature Rhododendron forest.
