Anthrostemma parvifolium (L.) Triana
Belize: Cayo: Chiquibul National Forest: Guacamallo Bridge,
Macal River. 16°52'07"N, 89°02'62"W.
Semi-succulent herb to 30cm, square stemmed, spines along
ridges of stem, corolla and calyx tetramerous, calyx partly fused
and toothed along upper margin, corolla purple, anthers 4+4,
blunt tipped stigma
Habitat: Shaded riverine vegetation along seasonally flooded
river
Vegetation: Semi-deciduous tropical forest
Soil: Alluvial
