ROYAL BOTANIC GARDEN EDINBURGH NM E01465235 HERB. HORT. EDINB. Flora of Belize Hypericaceae Hypericum terrae-firmae Sprague & L. Riley Cayo: Mountain Pine Ridge; Privassion Creek, Rosado's Cabin. Specimens found 600 metres North West of main lodge house along track which branches in a western direction from the main North West track leading from the lodge. Specimens taken from different plants clumped on the South West side of the track. 445 m 17°02'02" N, 88°57'55" W Shrub 1-1.5 metres, frequently branched and woody throughout. Flowers sessile at heads of branches. Petals yellow, ovary | celled with many ovules, styles 5-6, sepals green. Submontane pine savannah dominated by low scrubby vegetation. Side of forest track with no canopy cover and open to sunlight. Shrub layer made up predominantly of this species, ground layer mostly bare with clumps of coarse needle grasses.
