Elev. 3400 m 27° 41 2" N, 98° 29° 30" E Open alpine scrub and boggy meadows at or above treeline. Evergreen shrub ca. 3 m tall. Leaves orange tomentose abaxially. Buds red. Young fruit orange. Growing in open area along the rocky trail.
