Watuwila foothills, above Sanggona. Slopes of Gn. Sopura. Forest; deep leaf-litter, many slender smallish trees with scattered + emergents: little vegetation on forest floor. c. 1100m. 3 Nov. 1989 Coode 6138 Straight small tree, 6m x 10cm, with narrow crown. ~~ Bark brownish, somewhat flakey; outer-bark not detaching; inner-bark red, thin, hard, c.2-3 m thick overall; sapwood straw, c. 4mm thick, heartwood deep red, hard & dense.
