Moderately large tree, 2 feet diam
90 ft. total height. Bark 4" thick
outer bark light grey, shallowly un-
dutating, underbark deep red ;
inner bark light brown, with layers
of red-brown fibres, weakly fibrous.
wood white, moderately soft,
echaracteriesed by pores in clusters and
radial chains and fine reticulate
parenchyma.
Leaves glabrous above, covered by
fine, rusty coloured tomentum be-
neath, thin, lamina
undulating near the margin. Fruit
ovoid to globose, rusty coloured,
tomentose. .
Collected at Crooked Creek, Bulolo
Morobe District, T.N.G. Alt. 2,600!
