A leaning evergreen shrub to 10 m, covered with lichen, oval leaf to 13 cm x 4 cm, midgreen above and paler below, without indumentum, densely pubescent midrib on vein below, pubescent buds and first year shoots with hairs to 4 mm, large oval green seed pods.
