Habitat: Dense riverbank vegetation dominated by Poaceae, in secondary forest, top stratum 10-15 m. River 10 m wide, fast-flowing at the time.
Description: Herbacious climber, on Melastomataceae tree up to 10 m high. Stem 0.4 cm across, dark purplish brown. Petiole 8 x 0.3 cm, green. Lamina 17 x 15 cm, cordate and widely ovate, dull darkish green above with leathery feel, dull light green and rough beneath. Petals orange-yellow. Fruit two-tone, dark purplish red and pale green.
