Habitat: Common on a south east facing hillside in full sun on gravelly ground off forest track NF-029 from Eight Dollar mountain road with Quercus sp, Pinus sp, Arctostaphylos sp. and Umbellularia californica.
Description: From a deciduous shrub to 1m x 1.5m, leaves ovate dark green glossy above and below to 3cm x 2cm, fruit a cylindrical capsule to 2.5cm x .7cm light green in colour.
