Habitat: In a temporarily flooded palm-dominated forest.

Description: Herb to 50 cm, scrambling in roots of palm tree. Stem green. Leaves dark green above, lighter below. Bract colour maroon-red. Flowers bright red, base of floral tube white, increasingly red towards apex, especially where exposed. stamens white, anthers light olive green to light brown. persistent style white
