Description: Creeping herb, to 50 cm between leafy shoots. Rhizomes slender, c. 8 mm diam., covered with brown sheathing scales, rooting or flowering at nodes. Pseudostem to 110 cm tall with 13-17 leaf blades; leafless sheaths drying papery, brown, upper ones green; ligule green, sometimes pinkish or with dark red apex; leaf blades glabrous, mid-green. Inflorescence coming off rhizome, sometimes distant from nearest pseudostem, peduncle 2-3 cm long, flowers 6, not scented; bracts papery, pale brown; bracteoles pale brown, translucent. Calyx and corolla off-white; lateral staminodes white with red central stripe; labellum trilobed, central lobe longer and divided to 5 mm, white with yellow and orange central line; anther white, crest trilobed.
