Collecting locality: Belize:Corozal:Sarteneja; 3.5 Km Southwest of Sarteneja; transition between lowland forest on limestone and coastal mangrove.

Habitat: Shrub swamp with saline influence on limestone & islands of low forest. Low canopy to 4 (-10) m with abundant Cameraria latifolia 3 m, frequent Dalbergia glabra 3 m, occasional Metopium brownei 10 m, Acoelorraphe wrightii 4 m, rare Erythroxylum guatemalense 5 m & Acacia sp. Sparse herb layer with a few sedges, <5%, large areas of open mud. Last burnt 10 years previously, shrubs and trees damaged 2 years previously by hurricane.
Description: Rare small tree 5 m; covered in aggressive ants.
