Habitat: Dense pine woodland savanna. Abundant Pinus caribaea 15 m dbh 30-40 cm, occasional Acoelorraphe wrightii 2 (-3) m, Byrsonima crassifolia <1 m, Curatella americana 3 m, Ternstroemia tepezapote 1 m & rare Quercus oleoides 12 m. Open sedge & grass dominated herb layer, 60%, with open areas of white sand. Site burnt last year.
Description: Abundant herb 40 cm; inflated pods turn black and rattle when mature.
