Habitat: Medium dense pine savanna, trees ~5% canopy cover, up to 30 cm DBH & 10-12 m. 5o N/S slope from open savanna to woodland, standing water from recent heavy rains. Occasional Quercus oleiodes to 8 m, abundant Byrsonima crassifolia up to 2 m forms shrub layer, 20% shrub cover. 80% ground cover by grass tussocks, 15-50cm in height with abundant Cassytha filiformis. Strong evidence of burning.
Description: To 60cm; stem round and hollow; ligule a broken flap ca. 1mm high; lvs. folded/keeled.
