Habitat: Open woody savanna with scattered pine; with abundant Crescentia cujete (5 m), frequent Byrsonima crassifolia (3 m), frequent Myrtaceae (2 m), occasional Pinus caribbea (17 m) providing <5% canopy cover with islands of denser shrubs such as Metopium brownei, Acoelorraphe wrightii & Hampea trilobata around Quecus oleioides (16 m). Herb layer 60% sedges and 40% grasses together providing 80% ground cover.
Description: Occasional herb to 40 cm; flower w/ 6 shimmery pale blue/mauve tepals, paler towards base with dark purple markings; 3 dark purple anthers; 6-lobed feathery, blue stigma.
