Habitat: Area farmed >36 yrs previously. Thick leaf litter layer, limestone bedrock.; Vegetation: Tropical, evergreen broadleaf forest: Yucatan variant. Growing in association with Simarouba glauca, Protium copal, Cassipourea guianensis & young Sabal mauritiiformis. Canopy of ~16 m.
Description: Common sapling and understory shrub, 1.5m tall. Conspicuous leaf punctations and sweet scent from crushed leaves.
