Habitat: Growing in open bogs, in masses, in birch copses etc.
Description: Flowers bright violet. Corolla not lepidote. Stamens very slightly whiskered at base, so that overy is exposed. Style = stamens in length. Calyx larger embracing ovary. Leaves very small, apex acute, under surface closely set with scales.
