Habitat: Sloping ground near stream, poor, sandy soil over granite. Growing with grasses, sedges and scattered shrubs (chiefly Melastomataceae) to 3m.
Description: To 1.8 m, dense stand, young stems smell of fresh button mushrooms. Petiole length 70-100cms.
