Collecting locality: Belize:Orange Walk:Rio Bravo Conservation Area, around 2-2.5km south of Hill Bank Field Station

Habitat: Wet, broad leaf forest. Damp soil, with lots of organic matter. Specimen in clearing at the edge of the forest with evidence of disturbance e.g. treefall. Growing with Heliconiaceae.
Description: Understorey shrub, up to around 2.5 metres in height. Leaves mid green. Inflorescence at tip of stem bright red in colour, rounded with a pointed tip. No latex or distinctive smell.
