Habitat: Occurs in a stunted form in grass blanks subject to fire on the Ta-u plateau the flowers are pinkish on these trees or shrubs
Description: A large tree, very common. Leaves opposite, ovate, glabrous. Fl. tubular, pale greenish or pinkish at first, turning a decided pink. Corolla 5 lobeed. St. 4. diozmous, 2 longer than the others. Ovary 2 celled with central placentation. Calyx tubular, 4-5 lobed increasing slightly in fruit.
