Habitat: 5cm deep leaf litter, limestone bedrock, <16 yrs since farming.; Vegetation: Tropical evergreen, lowland, broadleaf forest: Yucatan variant (Cohune ridge). Canopy 13-15m, few mature trees in immediate vicinity, growing in association with lots of young Cupania belizensis, Cecropia sp & Attalea cohune saplings.
Description: Tree 17m, 19.8cm dbh, emergent, smooth grey trunk with magenta to pink slash.
