Habitat: Shallow leaf litter, heavy brown soil over limestone bedrock, >36 yrs since farming.; Vegetation: Tropical evergreen, lowland, broadleaf forest: Yucatan variant (Cohune ridge). Canopy 16-20m, growing in association with Calophyllum brasiliense, Bursera simaruba & Metopium brownei.
Description: 15.25m tall tree, 14.2cm dbh, with red papery bark. Pink and white slash, with little clear sap and a strong iodine/turpentine scent.
